August Book Haul!

Hey guys! Tell me I’m not the only one who thinks August has gone by really fast?? I can’t believe I’m posting my book haul already! I hope you have all had a fantastic month of reading and book buying! Here’s what I purchased this month:

Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas: I have such a great story to tell on this! I pre-ordered both of these from Waterstones and the paperback version arrived fine (I love the purple sprayed edges, so beautiful!) but the hardback that was also signed arrived damaged. I’m always in my local shop and sadly this isn’t the first time one of my books has arrived damaged. I complained to them and they said since I’m a regular they will refund me and give me a brand new copy for free! So I actually didn’t even pay for my hardback copy in the end! I love the staff there so much, they are always so nice and cheery. Very grateful to them for giving me a copy for free! Saved me £12.99 to spend on another book!

Hell bay by Kate Rhodes & Now You See by Max Manning: I was approved for both of these on NetGalley and I really loved them. They were some of my favourite books last year and Hell Bay actually made it onto my top 5. I felt bad for not including Now You See because that was equally amazing. I’ve been meaning to buy physical copies for a while but I never saw them in any bookshops. A couple weekends ago, I finally spied them in a 3 for £5 deal! What a bargain! So pleased to finally own physical copies because I cannot wait to read them again! They are both part of a series so I’ll be able to read them again before the second book is out!

Lies by T.M. Logan: This was the third book in the 3 for £5 deal! My mum actually told me to buy this one because I couldn’t decide which to get and asked her to pick for me. It sounds so interesting! I love books where a character makes a split-second decision and everything changes. Hopefully this one will be good!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern: I’ve been in two minds about reading this. Everyone has said it is amazing and so many times I’ve gone to buy it then changed my mind. I was browsing in a charity shop and I saw this beautiful white edition with red sprayed edges and I’ve never seen that edition before so I had to buy it. It’s so pretty and it was so cheap too. It felt like finding a hidden gem! If I don’t like it, I’ll probably just leave it in another charity shop for someone else to find!

I actually bought a lot of books this month but I guess I don’t feel too bad about it since there’s only two I haven’t read in some form. I have acquired the same amount of books that I’ve read and I hate that. I’m trying to read more books than I buy but it isn’t going very well so far! What books did you buy this month? I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!

I’ve heard so many great things about it! Lots of people have said other authors have wrote similar plots but not even come close to being as good as the night circus! I hope I like it 😄

That copy of The Night Circus sounds gorgeous! I absolutely loved it, but it’s way more prose-driven than character- or plot-driven, in my opinion. As long as you’re in the mood for that, you’ll be okay! I know someone who thought it was all about the plot and ended up hating it “even though the writing was phenomenal” so yeah..
