Nevermind Book Tag!

Hey guys! Today I am bringing you the Nevermind Book Tag which was recently created by readinginfinitely. I love finding new tags to do and this one seemed like a lot of fun! It’s goes through books or series you changed your mind about and I don’t think I’ve done anything like this on my blog before so I’m excited to share my choices with all of you! So let’s get into it!

Shatter Me

A book you rated high but have now changed your mind and/or a book you’ve rated low and changed your mind

For a book you rated high but have now change your mind about I’m going to go with Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. When I first read Shatter Me in 2016 (Was that really 3 years ago?) I rated it 5 stars just because it was so different and I loved Tahereh’s writing style. However, I reread it this year and only gave it 3 stars. I didn’t think there was much of a plot; it was all very repetitious and I couldn’t justify giving it higher than that. Also I read in a couple reviews that there was massive character development by the end of the book but I didn’t think there was? I was disappointed to give it such a low rating but I didn’t enjoy it all that much.

Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag!

Hey guys! My lovely friend Kate did this tag last week and I can’t believe it’s that time of the year already! This is by far one of my most favourite tags to do and I love revisiting what I’ve read so far each year. So that’s what I’m bringing you all day and first, like Kate, I just want to take a look at my reading challenge:

Considering I was in a book slump for the first 2-3 months of the year, I’m really pleased that I’ve managed to claw my way back and I’m sitting pretty comfortably at 42 books! I can’t believe I’m still 6 books ahead of schedule, that is crazy! I should easily make 80!

The Spring Cleaning Book Tag!

Hey guys! Today I am bringing you another book tag, yay! My lovely friend Kate tagged me to do this and I haven’t seen it before so I’m really excited to give it a go! Also it’s the perfect time to do it before summer starts, although we have already been having heatwaves so it feels like summer has already started!

The struggle of getting started: A book or series you struggle to begin because of its size

I really want to read this series because dragons (I honestly love them) but damn these books are so thick. They are actually the books on my TBR with the most pages according to Goodreads so that’s not scary at all! So many people have told me to read them but I just take one look at them and I’m like maybe one day but today is not that day.

Marvel Avengers Book Tag!

Hey guys! I’m super late to this tag but I’ve been wanting to do it for months and since Avengers: Endgame comes out this week I thought now would be the perfect opportunity to do it! I’m seeing it on Friday and I am definitely not prepared even though we’ve been waiting a year for it! If anyone else is seeing it, I hope you are more prepared for it than I am! Anyway, here’s the video I used for this tag and here’s my take on it!

Iron Man: Favourite first book in a series

I loved this book so incredibly much. I’ve read many series but I don’t think any of them have blown me away quite like Vicious did. It was such an awesome story with very fleshed out characters and I loved how Eli and Victor both set out with the intention of doing good but then they both become so drunk on power they lose themselves completely. It was definitely one of my favourite character driven books and I loved how there was also so many shocking twists throughout as well.

Fall Book Tag!

Hey guys! I spotted this tag on Kate’s blog and it looked so fun! I haven’t done a tag for a while so I thought this one would be perfect! It was created by Bionic Book Worm and she has also kindly allowed everyone to use her graphics, which I think is really nice! So lets get into it!

Seven DeathsThe Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton:

For this one it has to be Seven Deaths because this book was absolutely mind-blowing. It surged ahead of competition for one of best books I’ve read this year! The main character has to solve an impossible murder using the bodies he is given and the events that took place on the day Evelyn was murdered. On top of that, he is also being hunted by a crazy killer who is determined to stop him from ever getting to the truth. It’s one of the most puzzling murder mysteries I’ve ever read and I was left utterly clueless. It was an incredible book and well worth the read!

Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag!

Hey guys! I did this tag last year and I really enjoyed it so thought I’d revisit it this year! It’s crazy how we are in June already, where is this year going?? I’ve already completed my reading challenge of 30 books! I am now hoping to reach 50 and since I have half the year left, I am feeling pretty confident that I can achieve that! Here’s my picks for the mid-year freak out book tag:

Original creators: ReadLikeWildfire & Earl Grey Books

A Breath After Drowning

1) Best book you’ve read so far in 2018

This is a tough one because I have read so many amazing books so far and discovered some, albeit not many, fantastic authors! Alice Blanchard is just one of my newly discovered authors and this book was a rollercoaster from start to finish! One of the most amazing psychological thrillers I have read! I loved all of the characters, the twist at the end was on point and it had me hooked from start to finish. This book had everything I wanted and more! I can’t wait to read more books from her!

Netflix Book Tag!

Hey guys! I found this tag when I was scrolling through some BookTube vids and it seemed like a really fun one to do! I’m on Netflix every day and I’ve been slowly making my way through Friends so this tag seems very appropriate right now. I don’t know who the original creator is but all credit goes to them, whoever they are. Hope you enjoy!

Recently watched: The last book you finished reading

The last book I finished was Nightfall and I think this is possibly one of the worst books I have ever read. It was so awful. The writing was terrible, it didn’t flow together at all. I hated the characters so much! They had zero personality and despite being stranded on an island in the dark, with weird creatures trying to kill them, there was no emotion from them or any sense of urgency to escape. It makes me really angry that they compared this to The Maze Runner. This is nothing like that series and it’s just an insult to James Dashner. I would be very happy if I never saw this book again.
