The End of The Year Book Tag!

Hey guys! I haven’t done a book tag in a while and since we are approaching the end of the year, I thought this one created by Ariel Bissett was perfect! I hope you enjoy!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Oh, boy. For this one I’m going to pick Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen McManus. I DNF’d both of these books and for some reason I am so bad at finishing Crooked Kingdom. I have no idea why! I just can’t get into this book but I really want to finish it!

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

No… I am not a seasonal reader. I’m more of a mood reader; I read what I want, when I want. I read a Christmas book in October!

Is there a new release that you’re still waiting for?

I feel like this question can be interpreted in different ways. I’m not waiting for any to be published but I did ask for Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater for Christmas, so I’m still waiting for that. Also I asked my friend for My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing. This has been on my radar for a while, it looks so dark and reminds me of the film Mr and Mrs. Smith.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

I desperately want to read Crooked Kingdom, Ghosts of the Shadow Market by Cassandra Clare and Call Down the Hawk. Out of all the books I own, these are definitely the ones I’m most excited about.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I think this could either be Call Down the Hawk or Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney. I absolutely loved The Raven Cycle and my favourite was actually The Dreams Thieves because it was all about Ronan and his dreams so I have really high hopes for Call Down the Hawk. Then I’ve also heard really good things about Sometimes I Lie and Alice’s writing on the whole. So I’m holding back on my favourite books of the year until I’ve read these.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?

I actually typed out 2019 when I was copying this question… I can’t believe it’s 2020 next year. I have already started making reading and blogging plans but I failed badly this year so I don’t know how it’s going to go next year!

I hope everyone has had a great reading year and you’ve all managed to complete your goals! If you’d like to do this tag, free feel. I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
