Illumicrate Collections: A Darker Shade of Magic Unboxing!

Hey guys! My Illumicrate A Darker Shade of Magic box arrived yesterday and I am super excited to share it with you! This is my favourite box ever; it was filled with so many beautiful items and I’m keeping everything bar one item. So let’s get into it!

Handful of Stars Book Sleeve (artwork by @itslopez; quote design by @chattynora): I was so ecstatic with this and in awe of how stunning the design is! I have a lot of book sleeves and I think this is my new favourite one. It’s so big and can easily fit a thick hardback book in. The artwork is incredible and I love the quote on the back. I’m in love with this item!

Essen Tasch Hanging Poster (Artwork by rowatree): I don’t normally keep items like this but I’m completely in love with it! It’s gorgeous. I love the artwork, the colours and the size. I’ve already hung it on my wall and it looks amazing.

Four Londons Blanket (Artwork by @yoshiyoshitani): I am so completely in love with this blanket! In true Illumicrate style, it’s incredibly soft and very comfortable. I love the artwork and how all four Londons are represented. I’m definitely going to be curling up with a book and this blanket!

Shadows in the Night Pin (Designed by @stacey.mcevoy.caunt): I’m very picky when it comes to pins and only have a small collection, but I absolutely love this one. The design is so gorgeous and in case you can’t read it the quote says, “There are many shadows in the night”.

Magic Lessons Microfibre Cloth (Artwork by victoriaying): I was very surprised by this item and at first I had no idea what it was! I’m very happy with this it and it will definitely come in handy for cleaning the screens on my devices and my sunglasses!

Characters & Creator Acrylic Figures (Artwork by @monolimeart): Sadly, this is the item I’m not keeping. I really love the design and I thought it was so cool that V.E. Schwab got her own figurine. She looks so adorable! The reason why I’m not keeping them is because I have nowhere to display them!

Shades of Magic Trilogy Dust Jacket Set (Artwork by @rosiethorns88): My favourite item of the whole box! I can’t even begin to describe how incredibly stunning these dust jackets are. Even better, they are flippable sets as the title is an ambigram! That’s such a cool and unique way to design them. I’ve already put these on my hardbacks and they look amazing. They’re honestly beautiful. My pictures don’t do these justice!

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab: Finally, the book! This is an exclusive naked hardback edition featuring a foiled cover, silver sprayed edges and front endpapers with artwork by @rudebeetle. It’s so, so pretty! I love the silver edges, they’re kind of sparkly too! I can’t wait to see what the other two books look like! I’m pleased to say I’m definitely keeping this edition!

So that’s the entire box! Obviously I’m very pleased with this box and made up with pretty much all the items. If you got this box, which item was your favourite? I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!

That’s one incredibly box!!! I bought the first ever VE SCHWAB special edition by Illumicrate years ago and it blew my mind!! Btw, love the book sleeve and the dust jackets the most. 💕

Ah, I didn’t get that one but luckily I was able to buy the book and the items I wanted from other people! Since I regretted not getting that one, I’ve bought most of their special edition boxes and I agree with you, each one has blown me away!

They’re definitely my favourite items! I love custom designed dust jackets but I’ve never been able to get my hands on some until now. Couldn’t be happier since ADSOM is one of my favourite series ❤🤗
