Fantasy Book Series Recommendations!

Hey guys! It has been way too long since I did a recommended reads post so today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite fantasy series! I absolutely love fantasy books and I love talking about them. Some of these I just talk about so much on my blog anyway, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they are on this list! Here’s my top recommendations:

Spellslinger by Sebastien De Castell:

I cannot stop recommending this series! It’s one of my top fantasy series at the moment, it’s fantastic! It’s a very interesting story as it’s filled with both magic and non-magic. Every child has six tattooed bands on their arm for Iron, Silk, Sand, Breath, Blood, and Ember. Depending on which band they spark, they will then be able to wield that type of magic. Then there is a seventh called Shadow that is the deadly kind of magic and is supposedly cursed! Kellen, the main character, struggles to spark any of his bands. Instead of being given an incredibly rare magical gift, he ends up with none of those six bands and thus has to rely on cheap tricks to best his magical foes. He meets some pretty cool people who give him tips and tricks to avoid him instantly dying in fights with powerful magicians. It’s a series that is filled with many entertaining scenes and lots of twists! It’s pretty much a series of unfortunate events for Kellen! If you’re looking for a series that has magic with a twist, I highly recommend this one!

September 2018 Wrap Up!

Hey guys! Today I am bringing you my September wrap up! I read seven books this month which is a decent amount but I am a bit disappointed with myself as I wanted to read more. I went on holiday for two weeks and read 5 books which I think is OK but I wanted to read six, oh well! Here’s what I read this month:

The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater: I finally read The Raven Cycle! I really liked it and it lived up to the hype but I wouldn’t say it’s a series I’m obsessed with. There was lots of surprises along the way and I loved the characters, especially Gansey. But there was some things I couldn’t wrap my head around because it felt like they literally came out of nowhere. Aside from that, I think this is the best series Maggie’s written and I’m looking forward to this trilogy she’s writing for Ronan. He was definitely the most interesting character and it feels right that he’s getting his own series.

September TBR!

Hey guys! I am so excited because by the time you’re reading this I’ll be on holiday! I am going on holiday for 2 weeks and I plan on taking 6 books with me. I’ve been wanting to read them for a long time but just never picked them up, so I thought it’d be perfect to fly them across the world with me and read them by the pool!

The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

I am taking The Raven Cycle on holiday with me, yay! It’s about time I actually finished this series (I’ve only read the first book) and I think my holiday is the perfect time to do this. This series has been incredibly hyped compared to Maggie’s other books so I think I’ll really like it! It’s got better reviews and everyone says it’s one of their favourites. I did actually like the first book, I’m not sure why I never read the second one. So hopefully I’ll finish this series pretty fast when I’m lazing by the pool!

Book Series I Need To Finish!

Hey guys! I’m doing a different post for Wednesday rather than my usual Top 5 Wednesday or WWW Wednesday post. I haven’t been interested in any of the recent Top 5 Wednesday posts and I have fallen a little behind on my reading so there’s no point doing a WWW Wednesday post this week. I still wanted to post something though so here we are! I am sharing my unfinished series with you all and I hope you enjoy! I am only doing completed series though because if I did uncompleted ones the list would be never ending!

1) The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

So far I have only read the first book in The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater. I started the second book and I was really enjoying it but for some reason I put it down and didn’t pick it back up again?? I find myself doing that quite a lot! I just need to find time to sit down and read it solidly for a good few hours. I have heard so many great things about this series so I will be finishing it!

September Book Haul!

This was an exciting month because I finally got all my pre-orders I’ve been waiting months for! They are going straight to the top of my TBR pile!

tales1) Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs

I am so excited to read this! It’s basically a book they refer to in Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children and it’s full of fairytales about the peculiar. I was so excited when I saw this and I was able to pre-order a signed copy on Waterstones! It’s absolutely gorgeous, the cover is stunning! The gold is lovely and bright, it looks magnificent on my shelf. By the way, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is out in cinema’s TODAY, yayayay!

5 Book Series I Really Want to Read

Hey guys! Recently there are so many series coming out and it’s hard to keep on top of them all. There are some I’m currently reading, have just recently completed and ones that I really want to read but don’t have time for. Here are five series I’ve been dying to read:

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

I have been seeing these books everywhere, pretty much all over Instagram and the covers are so beautiful. They look really different to what I normally read and look like they have quite a unique story. I’m itching to just go out and buy them all but I’m trying to hold off because my TBR is painfully big right now.
