This was an exciting month because I finally got all my pre-orders I’ve been waiting months for! They are going straight to the top of my TBR pile!
1) Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs
I am so excited to read this! It’s basically a book they refer to in Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children and it’s full of fairytales about the peculiar. I was so excited when I saw this and I was able to pre-order a signed copy on Waterstones! It’s absolutely gorgeous, the cover is stunning! The gold is lovely and bright, it looks magnificent on my shelf. By the way, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is out in cinema’s TODAY, yayayay!
2) A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir
It feels like I have been waiting forever for this! I devoured An Ember in the Ashes and I was ridiculously happy when I saw this was coming out in September. Ember was amaaaaazingly good and that ending, ugh! I’m so excited to continue this series and dive back into Laia and Elias’s world! And the cover is so damn pretty, I was drooling over it. The fire in the letters, yes yes yes. It is so perfect. It looks so much better in real life than this picture because it really does stand out. It’s gorgeous.
3) Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
I pre-ordered a signed copy of this on Waterstones (Where would we be without Waterstones? They can have all my money, just take it) and I was sooooo excited to pick it up. These covers just keep getting better and better. They look so good together, I love the white covers!
4) The Fever Code by James Dashner
*Fangirl moment* Guuuuuuyss! I have been waiting so freaking long for this book and now it is FINALLY HERE! I nearly died from excitement when I picked up my freaking SIGNED COPY from WATERSTONES AGAIN! I have two signed books by James Dashner now, both from Waterstones. I am so in love with them for providing me with all these signed books, they are my life. I actually did a little dance when I got this book, I don’t even care I was that excited!
This book is so stunningly beautiful, I am so happy to finally have it in my hands! The cover is so much better and prettier than it looks in the picture, trust me. I would never lie to you. James Dashner is one of my favourite authors, his books are my auto-buy. His writing is goals, I love him. And the dedication in The Fever Code: “For all the die-hard Maze Runner fans. You’re crazy and full of passion and I love you.” I actually love him. I cannot wait to dive back into this world! I am 100% sure I will cry because I opened it up, saw the prologue and a certain character’s name and was like “Nope. I am not ready for this.” I am still not over The Death Cure even after all this time. It still hurts and I am preparing myself for this emotional journey that is The Fever Code.
5) Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch
I had such a hard time getting my hands on this book! I pre-ordered it and it was published on the 22nd. Did I get this book? No, I did not. I actually only got this book yesterday (29th September) a week after it was published. The lovely people at Waterstones had a random copy come in that was not mine but they gave it me and said they would put my copy out on the shelves when it finally decides to come in, ugh. I love them they are so nice and they just make shopping there so much better. Anyways, I am damn excited to read this because the ending of Ice Like Fire, what even. I badly need to know how this trilogy will end! When I saw this cover I was like yeaaaah that’s so pretty! But when I actually got my hands on it, I was blown away! The cover is freaking stunning I was so amazed and mesmerised! They all look so good together on my shelf, daayum!
5) Cinder by Marissa Meyer
I only bought the first book in this series because I’ve heard mixed reviews so I didn’t want to risk buying the whole series and then not end up liking it. I have been eyeing up these books for months though so I was like sod it, I’m buying the first one. Can’t wait to read it because it sounds pretty good and I love the cover!
6) The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
I finally caved and bought all these beautiful books, and guess what? The Raven King WAS SIGNED! I had no idea until I got home and opened it up to find out what order they went in and BAM, Maggie freaking Stiefvater’s signature was there. I nearly died from shock and excitement. I’ve heard so many great things about these books so I’m pretty excited to read them. The spine’s on them look amazing! They are so gorgeous! And I love the cover of The Raven King!
Safe to say that September was a freaking fantastic month in terms of book buying. These books are gorgeous and I can’t believe I finally have them after months of waiting! What books did you buy this month? Are there any here that you’ve read yet and if so, what are your thoughts on them?
Great haul! I love the cover for Tales of the Peculiar – glad to hear it’s just as stunning in real life 🙂
Thanks! 😀 The pictures inside are beautiful too! All in all it is a gorgeous book 🙂
As someone who doesn’t love fantasy books, so far I’ve really liked The Lunar Chronicles! I still have Winter and the two novellas to read, but I have to tell you that I have not been disappointed. I hope you like Cinder!😊
Ooh that’s interesting! Thanks for letting me know 😀 I’ve been dying to read them for months now xD
No problem😃👍
I love Maggie Stiefvater and The Raven Cycle is such an amazing series. How awesome that you got a signed copy of The Raven King!
I’ve only read her Shiver books so I’m excited to read more books by her 😀 I know I honestly couldn’t believe it! 👌
