WWW Wednesday – March 2021

Hey guys! I hope you’ve all had a great month so far and you’re getting lots of reading done. Unfortunately, I still feel in a bit of a slump and have only read two books so far. I’m hoping to read more than I did last month, but I don’t think it will be much more judging by how my reading is going so far. I have already deviated from my set reading list and I’m hoping sharing this post will spur me on to read more.

Currently reading: The Wild Girls by Phoebe Morgan

This is one of my most anticipated releases for 2021 so when I was accepted for the blog tour and sent an ebook, I had to read it right away. I’m halfway through and absolutely loving it. I’ve never read a book from this author before, but I will definitely check out Phoebe’s other books once I’ve finished this because her writing is so compelling. Phoebe writes such believable characters and all have secrets, which keeps you invested in the story and turning the pages. Also, it’s my favourite setting for a crime thriller – a group of friends isolated in a resort and someone ends up dead. This one seems like a revenge thing, which is interesting and I definitely want to know what happened two years ago that caused one of them to kill the others. This is definitely one of the better ones I’ve read and has been done brilliantly so far. I can’t wait to read the rest of it!

WWW Wednesday – January 2021

Hey guys! I hope you are all having a great week and your reading for 2021 is off to a good start. I have only read three books so far and I’m hoping a little reading update will spur me on as I’ve been reading so slowly this month. Plus, I haven’t done a WWW Wednesday post in a while and it’s always nice to bring it back every now and again. So without further ado, here’s my reading update for January:

Currently reading: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I have had this series sitting on my shelf for so long and since there’s a new book coming out (A Court of Silver Flames), I thought I should really attempt to read it again. I remember when I first read A Court of Thorns and Roses I absolutely adored it and that hasn’t changed in the slightest. Admittedly, I was hesitant going into it but honestly I had nothing to worry about. The plot is great, the characters are great and I’m just having a great time with it overall. I don’t think I need to explain what this book is about; it’s an immensely popular series and literally everyone loves it.

WWW Wednesday!

Hey guys! Today I am sharing with you a WWW Wednesday post. I’ve deviated from my TBR this month (surprise, surprise) but only because I’ve been reading a lot and can throw in a few other books! I’ve read seven books so far and I’m confident that I can easily read a ton more.

Are You Watching? by Vincent Ralph: I picked this up spontaneously and I’m so glad I did because it’s actually really suspenseful! It has such a unique plot and the chapters are so short and punchy. The main character Jess applies to be part of a YouTube reality series where once a week she allows herself to be filmed, from the minute she wakes up until midnight. She’s hoping that with the help of the thousands of people watching, she can catch her mother’s killer, who was murdered by the Magpie Man ten years ago. It’s been pretty gripping so far and I’m looking forward to seeing how it progresses!

WWW Wednesday!

Hey guys! I haven’t been feeling great this week and I’ve been really busy at work so unfortunately I haven’t had a lot of time to write blog posts. Hopefully this quick reading update will suffice until I can actually sit down and write some more detailed posts! Here’s what I’ve been reading this month:

Currently reading: I’m finally reading The Empress by S.J. Kincaid and so far I’m liking it but it’s a bit slow so I’m hoping it picks up later. I definitely prefer the first book up to now but I’m honestly not that far in yet so that could change.

I keep starting She by HC Warner and then just randomly putting it down! I have no idea why because it’s good, maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for it? I’m determined to finish it this time though!

WWW Wednesday!

Hey guys! I realised before I started writing this that I haven’t done a WWW Wednesday post since January! That’s crazy! I thought I’d bring it back this week and give it a little love while I update you all on what I’ve been reading recently and my plans for the rest of the month! Lets get into it!

I was sent an ARC for review by the publisher, so big thank you to them! I absolutely love the cover, it’s so beautiful and it sounds really intriguing. I love the supernatural and I love crime thrillers, so two of my favourite things in one book is awesome! I’m honestly not very far in yet so I don’t have much of an opinion but my curiosity is piqued. So far it seems good though and I can’t wait to get further in. I’m definitely interested in the supernatural side of the story. It’s only 250 pages so hopefully I’ll finish it over the next couple of days and have a review up for it soon!

WWW Wednesday!

Hey guys! Welcome to another WWW Wednesday post! Haven’t done one of these in a while so thought I’d just give you all an update on what I’m currently reading and what I plan on reading next, so you can see what reviews will be coming up on my blog! Lets get into it!

The Child FinderCurrently reading:

This was very kindly sent to me for review by Orion Publishing Group. Only fifty pages in so far so haven’t really formed an opinion yet but it is interesting. It flips between the past and the present and it’s from the perspective of Naomi Cottle who finds missing children and Madison Culver who has been missing for three years and is presumed dead. That’s all I have so far because the synopsis doesn’t really give too much away! It’s quite short so hoping to finish it on the weekend!

WWW Wednesday!

Hey guys! It’s been over a month since my last Top 5 Wednesday post and since I’ve been reading quite a bit recently I thought I’d update you all on where I’m up to with my books! Even though I work forty hours a week now I still find time to read on the train journey to work, on my break and then I get in a few hours before I go to bed. I’ve been told by so many people that they quit reading when they got a full time job and I’m determined not to do the same. I love reading and won’t let a job get in the way of that! So let me share my recent reads with you all!

If I Die Before I Wake by Emily Koch: This book is just insane! Insane! I’m sure I’ve already spoken about it but basically the main character is in a coma after he was involved in an accident and his family are debating withdrawing life support. He’s aware of everything that’s going on around him but he can’t move or speak. He can’t do anything, he can only listen. He begins to suspect the accident that put him in hospital wasn’t an accident and that someone actually tried to kill him. So now he has to try and solve his own murder before his family decide to let him go. This is such an amazing and creative idea for a story??? I’m just blown away by it??? I’ve nearly finished this book and I’m so excited to see how it all ends! I have no idea what’s going to happen, I’m completely in the dark and I love it! I’m completely hooked on this story and I can’t wait to write a review for this book!

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood by Oliver Bowden: I read the first Assassin’s Creed book in April which honestly seems like a lifetime ago now! When I started this I hadn’t realised how much I’d actually missed Ezio and how much I’d miss this world. I sat down with this book before bed and when I went to turn my light out I realised I’d already read 100 pages which is just insane. This is just a book you can truly get lost in and I can’t wait to lose myself some more in these pages!

WWW Wednesday!

Hey guys! I’ve been so busy this week with work that I haven’t really had as much time to dedicate to my blog as I’d have liked. With that being said, I hope you don’t mind me doing a WWW Wednesday post today just because it’s quick and easy to do! I also have an update post coming for you on Friday because there might be a slight change to my blogging schedule next month. I’ll explain why in that post but for now lets get into today’s post!

The Cost of Living by Rachel Ward: This was kindly sent to me by the publisher for review and I’m also taking part in a blog tour for it! I’m in a mad dash to finish it this week because the blog tour takes place when I’m on holiday. I want to have my review written up and scheduled to post so even if I only have a little free time I’m shoving my nose in this book! It’s really good so far but it’s very slow and not a lot is happening. I like the characters and I like that they work in a supermarket. It’s so normal and really relatable, especially if you work in retail.

Welcome to the Slipstream by Natalka Burian: Admittedly, I’m not very far in this book yet but what I have read is quite good. I’m liking it so far and hoping to give it my full attention when I finish The Cost of Living! This was also sent to me for review and it focuses on mental illness which was what drew me to it. I have only read a few books about this but I loved them both so hopefully I love this one too!

WWW Wednesday!

Hey guys! It’s been nearly a month since I last did a WWW Wednesday post so I thought I’d bring it back again. I’m so excited to share with you all some of the books I have been reading recently! Hope you enjoy!

Spellslinger by Sebastien De Castell: This was a very spontaneous read! I just grabbed it off my shelf and dived right in. I’m already over halfway through and I’m hoping to finish it by the end of the week. This book has some sassy characters and I like it. I love Kellen so much, he’s such a cute character.

Here and Gone by Haylen Beck: I was approved to read this on NetGalley and honestly I’m kind of struggling with it. I thought the cover looked really intriguing and the synopsis made me immediately want to start reading it. I’m 40% in and it’s not really grabbing me like I wanted it to. I don’t like any of the characters that much and the plot is annoying me, it’s very strange. I’m going to try and push through because so far I have read and reviewed every book this publisher has approved me for. I don’t want to let them down with this one now!
