Top 5 Wednesday: Second Book is Best

Hey guys! I was so excited to take part in this weeks topic because I have complained a lot about series that went downhill. I thought it was about time I gave some recognition to those rare second books that are actually pretty damn awesome! I’ve read my fair share of series where the second book has been incredibly boring but these series had kickass second books! I hope you enjoy!

1) The Scorch Trials by James Dashner 

If you guys read a lot of my posts then you will know how obsessed I am with this series and James Dashner. His writing is just amazing and I’d love to be able to write such captivating stories! I adore The Maze Runner series so much, it’s actually one of my favourites! His writing is just fantastic and he completely blew me away in The Scorch Trials. This book was definitely the best in the series because it scared the hell out of me. It was so intense and spooky. It gave me chills and I actually had goosebumps reading it. When he writes about the cranks… it’s so scary! This was definitely one of the most intense books I’ve read and I bloody devoured it.

Popular YA Books I Dislike!

Hey guys! I have been really wanting to do this post for a while and I finally got around to it! I hope you enjoy and please do not be offended by any of my choices! It’s just my personal opinion and these are really popular books, so even though I don’t like them, a lot of other people do!

1) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I remember my friend recommended this trilogy to me because she really liked it and thought it was something I’d like too. Sadly I really didn’t like this book. I thought the first book was incredibly boring and I didn’t like any of the characters. They didn’t really stand out to me and over the course of the three books they just got so irritating! Katniss was so bad in the last book she just cried all the time and it really annoyed me. I really wanted Katniss and Gale to end up together because I just couldn’t see what was so great about Peeta. I don’t think the ending of the trilogy was that great and I just can’t see why everyone loved these books so much. The films were also terrible.

 

Top 5 Wednesday: Characters You Used to Love but Don’t Anymore

Hey guys! This week’s topic is characters you used to love but don’t anymore! You either outgrew them or your outlook changed and now you can’t stand them. Maybe you don’t even hate them, you just are neutral about them when you used to run a fan blog about them. This topic is so interesting and I had to think real hard about it but I came up with some characters. I’d be interested to know if you guys share the same characters as me!

1)  Lucinda Price (Fallen by Lauren Kate)

I really liked Luce when I first started reading the Fallen series. But… when I got to the second or third book I found myself disliking her more and more. She just became really annoying and brought every book down. I liked all the other characters it was just Luce I really started to hate which is annoying since she is the main freaking character! I really can’t remember how or why I finished these books since I disliked Luce so much… I guess I just really needed to know how it was all going to end?

 

 

 

Top 5 Wednesday: Favourite Non-Canon Ships

Hey guys! It’s that time of the week again already! This week’s topic is favourite non-canon ships and can be couples you love, but they never got together or did get together but weren’t together at the end of the series. Or a couple you ship but it’s actually impossible for them to be together because they are from different worlds, franchises, etc.

1) Katniss and Gale (The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins)

I’m not really a big fan of these books and I have never understood why they are so popular but it actually killed me when Katniss and Gale didn’t end up together. I could not (and still can’t) see what was so great about Katniss and Peeta. I know I am not alone because I have seen others say they wanted Gale and Katniss to be together! They were so much better suited and I feel like the author just did that whole thing with Gale as an excuse to get him out of the way.
