Annoying book cover changes!

Hey guys! I have been wanting to do this post for a really long time but I’ve never found the time to write it until now! I’ve just always felt so annoyed when a publisher has randomly changed the covers halfway through a series and I feel like venting about it! I hope you enjoy and I’m curious to see if you agree with me on any of these!

1) An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

This has by far been the most annoying series for cover changes. I love these books but the covers are so damn mismatched. I really wish the publishers would just make up their minds because this series looks a complete mess. All of the books are different sizes too! Reaper is the biggest book and then Torch is so tiny in comparison! It’s like the small UK hardback size and it just bugs me. I just want to throw them all out and buy matching covers but I have looked everywhere and these are currently the only UK covers, ugh! I could buy the American ones but I can’t make up my mind if I like them or not. I swear I’ll be so mad if the fourth book is different AGAIN.

Book Covers: Hardback vs Paperback

So I’ve done two posts on UK vs US covers and now I thought I’d do a Hardback vs Paperback version because lately I have been noticing that the paperback cover is different from the hardback cover. A lot of the time I prefer the hardback cover and can’t understand why they felt the need to change the paperback one. Sometimes it’s little changes with fonts or colours other times it’s such a drastic change I’m curious as to why they did it. For this post, the hardback will be pictured on the left and the paperback on the right.

1) A World Without You by Beth Revis

This is one example of a drastic cover change for the paperback release. I just think it looks like a really dreary and dull cover. The background fits with the location in the story but it still does nothing for me. It just looks too boring and it would blend in with other books on the shelf. The hardback really caught my eye with all the different coloured string against the white and black background. I saw it and immediately I was interested. I wanted to find out what this book was about. The paperback, on the other hand, just looks like a kid was let loose with a crayon and scribbled all over the front of the cover. It’s very messy and looks quite ugly. I definitely prefer the hardback.

March Book Haul!

I nearly completely forgot to do my book haul post! This month is going by so fast I honestly didn’t even realise it was April tomorrow! This month has been absolutely fantastic for me! I’ve recently started receiving review copies from Titan Books which is just amazing and so, so, so exciting! Thank you guys so much for reading, liking and commenting on my posts! I wouldn’t be receiving these books without you guys so thank youuuuu! I received four books for review from Titan Books and then I bought a couple for myself. One is young adult and the rest are crime thrillers.

The Diabolic.jpg1) The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid

I really wanted this for a while and I finally picked it up in a Waterstones shop when I went on a trip with my parents! It’s an absolutely gorgeous cover and the actual book under the dust jacket is red, it looks amazing. I’ve seen it all over Instagram and I was like I want this, I really want this. And it’s finally mine! So excited to read it because everyone seems to love it, so hopefully I will too!
