Book Tag: Books I Want to Read But Don’t Want to Read

Hey guys! Honestly I say this every time I do a book tag, but it really has been a few months since my last one. I spotted this particular tag over on The Comfy Reader and it seemed like a lot of fun to do! Unfortunately I do not know who originally created this tag but all credit goes to them.

The Court of Miracles

A Book You Feel You Need To Read Because Everyone Talks About It

One book that has been popping up again and again on Twitter and Instagram is The Court of Miracles by Kester Grant and this comes out in June. It’s marketed as Six of Crows meets Les Miserables and is about a thief going head to head with leaders of Paris’s criminal underground in the wake of a failed French Revolution. This doesn’t sound like a book I would like to be honest, but since there’s so much hype around it I’ll probably end up reading it.

Books That Have Been On My TBR The Longest

Hey guys! Today I thought I’d shame myself by highlighting some of the books that have been on my TBR the longest (we are talking a good few years here) and hopefully it will motivate me to pick them up! If you’ve read any of them, I’d love to know what you thought of them and if they’re worth reading. So without further ado, let’s get into it:

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey: I think I bought this when dystopian books were still a thing and everyone was devouring them up. I liked how refreshing it sounded because it’s about an alien invasion, but I have heard very mixed reviews about this series. Apparently the different perspectives are confusing, the plot is hard to follow, the second book isn’t as good, etc. So naturally I felt less inclined to read the first book and it’s just been gathering dust ever since. If you enjoyed this series, please do let me know!

The Valiant by Lesley Livingston: I discovered this through BookTube and I was super intrigued because it’s about female gladiators and I haven’t read anything like that. Also it’s a mix of Young Adult, Fantasy and Historical Fiction so I’m interested to see how that’s turned out. I just hope there’s lots of fighting! I honestly have no idea why I haven’t picked this one up yet.

Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Want to Finally Read in 2017

Hey guys! This weeks topic is focusing on older books that deserve some love too! It can be books you meant to read in 2016 or 2015 or 2014 and never got around to. These are books that have been sitting on your TBR for a while, and you really want to get to!

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this… I have that many books to read it’s painful and they are all begging to be read but I just don’t have enough time! Too many books and not enough time is my problem. I’m going to have to be harsh and pick favourites for this post so lets just get into it.

red queen1) Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

This was actually on another Top 5 Wednesday post books you want to read before the end of the year and would you look at that, I haven’t read it! I’m not really surprised but I would like to read it in 2017 which is scary to think that is only a few weeks away! Has anyone read this book? I mainly bought it for the cover and have heard so many mixed reviews about it! Would love to hear your thoughts on it and if you think I should bump it up to the top of my TBR?

Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Want to Read Before the End of the Year

So this is my first Top 5 Wednesday post, yay! I recently discovered this group on Goodreads and the link is here if you want to check that out.

There are so many books I want to read before the end of the year but I desperately want to read some books more than others. These five are probably my top ones:

red queen1) Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Yep, still haven’t read that yet. I bought it when Glass Sword came out and that already feels like so long ago! I’ve heard so many mixed reviews about this book: some people loved it, some people hated it. I really want to read it even if I don’t like it because at least then I’ll finally know and it won’t be sitting on my TBR forever. I read the first couple chapters a while back and I got a really strong Hunger Games feel and I didn’t really like The Hunger Games so here’s hoping it’s not like that!
