November 2020 TBR

Hey guys! As you can tell from the title, today I’ll be talking about my November TBR. I have two weeks off and England is in a month-long lockdown from tomorrow, so I should get plenty of reading done seeing as I can’t go anywhere. Here’s what I want to read:

The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton: I started this just before Halloween, but I was no where near finished so I’ve had to carry it over into November. I’ve got about 200 pages left now so I should finish it soon! It’s not at all what I was expecting, but I’m enjoying it so far.

The Lives of Saints by Leigh Bardugo: I’m hoping I can read this one fairly quickly seeing as it’s short stories. I wasn’t planning on buying it but I love the Illumicrate version. I really hope it’s better than The Language of Thorns. I struggled to finish that one and only enjoyed one of the stories.

Books I had to buy but are still sitting on my shelf!

Hey guys! Recently I have been browsing old top ten topics and I stumbled across this one. It seemed like a really great topic to write about! I am considering participating in these posts on Tuesday’s now instead of Top 5 Wednesday as I just think there’s better topics. Top 5 Wednesday recently has not been very good for me. Though the only thing that concerns me is that I won’t be able to pick 10 books for each topic! If you take part in this weekly meme, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I have a 100 unread books to choose from for this, so here’s the first 10 that popped up in my head:

Legendary by Stephanie Garber: I haven’t even read Caraval yet but I had to rush to buy this because I wanted it to match the first book! All first editions had an image under the dust jacket like the first one. These books are like gold dust to come across now and they are so expensive when you do finally find out! I saw someone selling a copy of Caraval for £150 and my jaw hit the floor. So of course I had to buy this for a reasonable price and make sure it matched my copy of Caraval, in case I actually like the book!

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi: Have I read the Shatter Me series yet? No. Did I rush out and buy this as soon as it came out? Yes! Total cover buy and I can’t wait to catch up on this series!

December Book Haul!

Hey guys! I can’t believe that it’s 2018 on Monday! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with your families and got really nice gifts. I hope you don’t mind my lack of posting this week. I posted every day last week so that I could take Christmas off and just have a break from my blog. I love blogging but you definitely need to take a break from it every once in a while. I got two books for Christmas and then I bought one.

Artemis1) Artemis by Andy Weir

I knew I was getting this book for Christmas because I asked for the signed edition from Waterstones. I had no idea it was a special edition limited to 2,000 signed copies. You open the book and one of the pages at the front has the number and mine is 1220. That’s really neat! I’m a bit nervous about reading this now though because lots of people have given it low ratings and said Andy Weir tries too hard to make the main character a female version of Mark Watney from The Martian. Apparently it comes across as forced and awkward which is not good. But I really loved The Martian and I was really excited for this so I’ll still see if it’s any good!
