Annoying book cover changes!

Hey guys! I have been wanting to do this post for a really long time but I’ve never found the time to write it until now! I’ve just always felt so annoyed when a publisher has randomly changed the covers halfway through a series and I feel like venting about it! I hope you enjoy and I’m curious to see if you agree with me on any of these!

1) An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

This has by far been the most annoying series for cover changes. I love these books but the covers are so damn mismatched. I really wish the publishers would just make up their minds because this series looks a complete mess. All of the books are different sizes too! Reaper is the biggest book and then Torch is so tiny in comparison! It’s like the small UK hardback size and it just bugs me. I just want to throw them all out and buy matching covers but I have looked everywhere and these are currently the only UK covers, ugh! I could buy the American ones but I can’t make up my mind if I like them or not. I swear I’ll be so mad if the fourth book is different AGAIN.

Book Unhaul!

Hey guys! I’ve recently had a clear out of some of my books and they are just books I couldn’t finish, series I couldn’t get into/finish and just books from university that I have no interest in keeping! I thought it’d be interesting to share some of them with you just because I like watching/reading other people’s unhauls! So lets get into it!

1) Angel by L.A. Weatherly & City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I believe this is a trilogy and the synopsis sounded really interesting. My friend read the first book and recommended it to me because she thought I’d enjoy it. Sad to say I couldn’t really get into it. I wasn’t a fan of the writing, I didn’t really find it that engaging. I didn’t get very far in before I decided it wasn’t worth reading. I held on to it though for so long, like five years before finally deciding to just donate it to charity. I wanted to try and pick it up again but the way books are flying out recently I’m just not interested in this trilogy and have other books I want to read now. I’m just donating the movie cover of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare because I don’t really need it and it’s pretty much fallen apart because they make them dead cheap. If you are wondering why I have the movie cover it’s because it was about £4 in Asda and this was my first time reading it. I like the other covers so much better.

roses2Roses: A book/series that you don’t/didn’t want to end

I really, really, really don’t want The Maze Runner series to end. I could just live in this world forever. I love the story, I love the characters and I love the writing. Everything James Dashner writes is just amazing and we have been lucky enough to have two prequel books and the film adaptations. I would happily devour anything else Maze Runner related because I feel like he could write so much more about this world.

Favourite Books of 2016!

Hey guys! I really wanted to share with you my favourite books I’ve read this year and see if any of you guys share these favourites with me! I hope you enjoy this post and here’s to reading and discovering many more books in 2017!

A World Without You1) A World Without You by Beth Revis

First book I have read about mental illness and I loved the concept of it! Right from the start I really loved this book and I completely fell in love with Bo’s character. It was such a heartbreaking story and it is definitely my favourite book I’ve read this year. I feel like this is a book I could read over and over and never get tired of it. It was a really beautiful and captivating story.

Top 5 Wednesday: Favourite Non-Canon Ships

Hey guys! It’s that time of the week again already! This week’s topic is favourite non-canon ships and can be couples you love, but they never got together or did get together but weren’t together at the end of the series. Or a couple you ship but it’s actually impossible for them to be together because they are from different worlds, franchises, etc.

thg1) Katniss and Gale (The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins)

I’m not really a big fan of these books and I have never understood why they are so popular but it actually killed me when Katniss and Gale didn’t end up together. I could not (and still can’t) see what was so great about Katniss and Peeta. I know I am not alone because I have seen others say they wanted Gale and Katniss to be together! They were so much better suited and I feel like the author just did that whole thing with Gale as an excuse to get him out of the way.

Top 5 Wednesday: Characters You’d Want as Family

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

I wasn’t going to do this post at first because my mind drew a complete blank when I first saw this topic. But I thought about it some more and I have a very random collection of characters I’d like to share with you!

Bane1) Magnus Bane (The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare)

Who wouldn’t want Magnus Bane as their friend or family member? He’s just a very sarcastic character and I think he would be a hilarious family member who always makes everyone laugh with his witty comments.

Top 5 Books of 2016 (So far!)

Since we are halfway through the year, I thought I would share with you some of my favourite books I have read so far. I have currently read twenty one books in 2016 and I want to try and read a ton more. Here are my top five favourite ones (in no particular order!):

LM_cover1) Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (The Dark Artifices 1#)

Cassandra Clare has absolutely smashed it again! I loved her previous Shadowhunter books known as The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. I was ecstatic when this book came out and couldn’t wait to start reading it. I have always been envious of her writing, she just has a way of luring the reader in and not letting you go until you’ve read the very last page. The plot was so beautiful and so intricately woven it’s insane. How does she do that? I love her books so much and I’m dying to get the next book in this series. The characters were perfect as well I fell in love with them all and I can’t wait to read about them all again.
