Most Anticipated 2020 Releases

Hey guys! Today I thought I’d talk about my most anticipated 2020 releases and writing this post has made me even more excited now just because they all sound so amazing. We truly have some incredibly talented authors and I cannot wait for their books to come out! Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare: I remember putting this on my list last year and then being gutted when it was pushed back. I love Cassie’s books so much and think she is an amazing writer, she really makes me care about her characters. I’m so excited to meet another generation of shadowhunters and I hope it’s just as good as The Infernal Devices.

Imagine Me by Tahereh Mafi: I really enjoyed Defy Me and then the cliffhanger at the end of Reveal Me was so intense! I had no idea what was happening and it completely threw me, but it made me so excited for Imagine Me. I was so gutted when I realised I had such a long wait for the last book. I can’t wait to see Ella use her powers and not hold back. Also I really want a happy ending for Ella and Warner.

Havenfall by Sara Holland: I’m sure everyone has heard of this one by now and that cover is simply glorious. I haven’t read any of Sara’s books yet but I think this will be my first because it sounds so incredible. Maddie Morrow summers at the inn are a chance to experience magic first-hand and escape her broken family. It’s where one day she hopes to inherit the role of Innkeeper from her beloved uncle. However, when the safe haven is shattered by the discovery of a dead body and her uncle is gravely injured, Maddie Maddie suddenly finds herself responsible for the safety of everyone in Havenfall and she’ll do anything to uncover the truth. I hope it lives up to my very high expectations because it honestly sounds so magical and like the perfect fantasy read I’ve been looking for!

One Of Us Is Next by Karen McManus: I absolutely loved One of Us is Lying; it was so addicting and full of so many shocking twists. I was not expecting a sequel and needless to say, I am completely over the moon about it. I believe that the main character is Maeve, Bronwyn’s sister with two new main characters: Phoebe and Knox. I actually thought it would be with the original characters but I’m very much looking forward to seeing some new characters.

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu: So this is a combination of young adult fantasy and historical fiction and it sounds awesome! Born with a gift for music, Nannerl Mozart is a musical prodigy with just one wish – to be remembered forever. But she is a young woman in 18th century Europe and composing is forbidden to her. What dangerous lengths will she go to to make history remember her? It sounds magical, empowering and emotional. I cannot wait for this incredible book!

A Window Breaks by C.M. Ewan: This sounds intriguing. A family retreat to rural Scotland to escape a horrible tragedy; however, a group of strangers break into the house and as the family begin the fight for their lives, long-kept secrets are revealed. Remember when I said I love these crime thriller retreat books where everything goes wrong? This one sounds exactly like that and therefore the absolute perfect book for me! I hope it’s as thrilling as the synopsis sounds.

The Hidden Girls by Rebecca Whitney: This one caught my eye because it’s about a new mother recovering from postpartum psychosis; she has been hearing voices and is no longer confident in her own judgement. But when she hears a scream at the local petrol station and the police and her husband insist it’s her mind playing tricks on her, she can’t stop thinking what if someone was in trouble and needs her help. I think this will make a very interesting crime thriller/mystery and I’m especially interested in the mental illness aspect. I love any books that explore mental health and I don’t believe I’ve come across one that explores postpartum psychosis so I’m really looking forward to it!

The Conference of the Birds by Ransom Riggs: No spoilers for this one because it’s book number five in Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children. I’ve really loved this series and I’m so glad Ransom decided to continue with it.

There are some other books I am excited about but they don’t have a cover yet! I might do another post later in the year once the covers are announced and the release dates are closer. What books are you most excited about? I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
