The Spring Cleaning Book Tag!

Hey guys! Today I am bringing you another book tag, yay! My lovely friend Kate tagged me to do this and I haven’t seen it before so I’m really excited to give it a go! Also it’s the perfect time to do it before summer starts, although we have already been having heatwaves so it feels like summer has already started!

The struggle of getting started: A book or series you struggle to begin because of its size

I really want to read this series because dragons (I honestly love them) but damn these books are so thick. They are actually the books on my TBR with the most pages according to Goodreads so that’s not scary at all! So many people have told me to read them but I just take one look at them and I’m like maybe one day but today is not that day.

Cleaning out the closet: A book or series you want to unhaul

I have been saying for a while now that I want to finish this series but just the thought of reading ACOMAF again is completely putting me off and I currently have zero interest in reading these books. So sadly this might be a series I never finish and I kind of want to unhaul it but at the same time I’m like what if I want to read it one day? The struggle!

Opening windows and letting fresh air in: A book that was refreshing

I really enjoyed 29 Seconds as I thought it was quite a refreshing crime thriller. It’s about a woman whose boss is a sexual predator and in her desperation to escape from her current situation, she agrees to a once-in-a-lifetime deal to get rid of him with no trace back to her. It’s difficult to imagine what I would do in that situation and I’d like to think I’d be a better person but honestly I can’t say for sure unless I experience it (goes without saying that I hope I don’t obviously). Very interesting plot.

Siege and Storm

Washing out the sheets: A book with a scene you wish you could rewrite

I would like to completely rewrite the bizarre fighting scene between two (I think) ships at the start of Siege and Storm because it was an absolute mess and I didn’t understand it at all. I didn’t have a clue what was happening and it was very off-putting considering it happens right at the start of the book!

Throwing out unnecessary knick knacks: A book in a series you didn’t think was necessary

Honestly… are these books necessary? I don’t think so. Me Before You should have been a standalone, sorry not sorry.

What Remains

Polishing doorknobs: A book that had a clean finish

The ending of this book was so satisfying as it finally closed the door on a plot that had been bugging me since the second book in the series. I highly recommend this series, it’s absolutely fantastic and one of my favourite crime thriller series.

Reaching out to dust the fan: A book that tried too hard to relay a certain message

This was a hard one but I think I will go with Vox since it’s the most recent one I’ve read that has a certain message. I thought it started off strong but then it got really confusing and I kind of lost interest in the story. I haven’t read it but I’ve been told The Handmaid’s Tale is better.

The tiring yet satisfying finish of spring cleaning: A book series that was tiring but satisfying to get through

This series was such a struggle to get through because it was so boring at times and I was sick to death of all the unnecessary romance. However it was so satisfying to have ticked off yet another Shadowhunter series and be caught up ready for her UK book tour and for the three books she is publishing this year! I am terrified of falling behind with her books and then having about 10 books to catch up on!

So that’s it! This was actually a really fun tag to do so thank you, Kate! I’d like to tag these lovely people:

…And of course anyone else who wants to take part! Do you agree/disagree with my choices? What books would you pick? I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!

Lol, I just saw this haha. I wish there was a notification system for when people link your site on their posts because then I’d actually know when I’ve been tagged!
