Hey guys! Today I am bringing you my April TBR. I thought I should probably write it and publish it before I finish my first book which always seems to be the case. I am aiming to read four books this month but since I did fantastic job in March, hopefully I have another stellar reading month and surpass my target. Here’s what I’m hoping to read:
The Puppet Show by M. W. Craven: I’m currently reading this gruesome and disturbing story. It’s about a serial killer who burns people alive in the Lake District’s prehistoric stone circles and he leaves no clues behind. I’m 100 pages in and I’ve flinched so many times already at how descriptive it is. I was only a few pages in and I was squirming. It’s horrifying and I don’t even want to think what will happen towards the end. Also prehistoric stone circles have always scared the wits out of me because I grew up being told they were people who were turned to stone. So obviously I was terrified of going anywhere near them for most of my childhood and even now they still kind of scare me, so don’t ask me why I’m reading this! I was only few pages in and I was squirming. It’s horrifiying and I don’t even want to think what will happen towards the end.
Lies by T.M. Logan: I really have no idea what this is about because the synopsis is so vague. As far as I can tell, the main characters wife has been lying to him for their entire marriage but I have no idea what about or why. So I’m pretty much going into this blind but I guess that’s okay! It will make it more it interesting beause I normally read about 3 different synopsises for a book before I read it.
How I Lost You by Jenny Blackhurst: I have been wanting to read this book for so long now and I’m finally going to do it! I read a sampler when it first came out and I was hooked but for some reason I never bought the full book until last year. Going from the synopsis, the main character is given a new identity after she murdered her son three years ago. She doesn’t remember what happened but was told by her loved ones, her doctor and the police that she did it. But are they really telling her the truth? Is her son still alive? Guess I’ll find out!
What Remains by Tim Weaver: I’ve been wanting to catch up with this series for so long now! I didn’t really enjoy the fifth book so I ended up taking a massive break form this series and now I’m hoping I can get back into it! This one sounds so good. It’s about a cold case that destroyed one of the characters careers and I’m so excited to see if it’s finally solved. I really hope it lives up to my expectations!
What a gruesome month I have planned! Four crime thrillers, yay! Have you read any of these books? What books are you planning on reading this month? Feel free of leave a comment below! I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks you so much for reading!
