Hey guys! Today I am bringing you my February wrap up and I think my reading slump is finally over as I managed to read everything that was on my TBR! The first two books I didn’t enjoy but the last two were incredible and a great way to end the month! Here’s what I read:
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare: I finally finished this beast and while it wasn’t my favourite or anything like I was expecting, it was still a nice ending to this trilogy. I didn’t enjoy how the fantasy part took a backseat to the romance and how heavily it focused on events that happened in City of Heavenly Fire but I can’t deny that Cassie knows how to make her fans happy. Despite not enjoying this one, I’m still very much looking forward to her three 2019 releases! Also looking forward to seeing more of these characters and hopefully some better plots for them!
The Future Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Instrument of Death by David Stuart Davies: Another one I didn’t greatly enjoy but the plot was very interesting. It’s about hypnotism and how this evil mastermind is basically hypnotising some pour soul to murder people who did the slightest thing to annoy him! A spectacular villain and some very gruesome scenes but one that didn’t live up to my expectations sadly.
Vengeful by V.E. Schwab: I loved this book so much! I really hope Schwab writes a third one because I have fallen so badly for these characters and I’m not prepared to say goodbye to them. This book was such an insane whirlwind and it had me on the edge of my seat throughout! I love how she introduced new characters and expanded upon this world but also retained Victor and Eli’s storyline. I loved seeing Victor and Eli again and how they were pulled apart but drawn back to one another. They have such a peculiar relationship and it’s so fascinating being inside their heads. There’s still so much of this world that Schwab can explore and I’m desperate to know what happens to certain characters. Vicious and Vengeful have honestly been such exciting books and I badly need a third one!
Caraval by Stephanie Garber: I didn’t think I’d manage to finish Caraval before March but I ended up flying through it! What a delightful book! Stephanie had me completely captivated throughout and her writing is honestly so magical. She described everything so beautifully and I love how she could easily flip between describing Caraval as magical one minute and dangerous the next. It was so mesmerising and a real page turner! I’m so excited to start Legendary. I loved Scarlett so much and found her character to be so relatable. I think the second one is from her sisters point of view and I’m really looking forward to it as I think she’ll be quite an exciting character!
So I think I had a pretty successful month and I hope I can push myself even harder in March! I’m hoping to read six books but we’ll see! What books did you read this month? Feel free to leave a comment below! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
