FairyLoot Unboxing: December 2018!

Hey guys! I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas/holiday! Today I am bringing you my December FairyLoot unboxing and the theme for this month was Dragons! That alone sold on me on this box but then I saw an ARC (advanced reader’s copy) and a book sleeve will also be included which sounded awesome! Unfortunately this won’t be a complete unboxing because one item is missing. There’s supposed to be Mother of Dragons Magnetic Bookmarks but they forgot to pack it! I’ll be getting that sometime in January hopefully.

So my overall thoughts on this book aren’t good. Sadly, I was really disappointed with it and I’ve only decided to keep two of the items. I just think it could have been better and it wasn’t worth the money I paid. I think there was too many paper based items this month. Definitely not their best box in my opinion!

Reading Journal (Made by Fictiontea Designs and artwork by Blanca Montiel): First up is the reading journal. I didn’t really use the last one they included and that was only like three months so I definitely won’t be using a sixth month one. It’s really pretty and has some nice quotes but I just can’t see myself using it.

Abraxos and Toothless (Double-Sided Print, artwork by Diana Worak): This is a really pretty print but unfortunately I haven’t read Throne of Glass and I’ve not watched How to Train Your Dragon so I can’t really appreciate it. I’m not really a print person as I have nowhere to put them. I think it’ll be better with someone who actually likes these characters!

Book Sleeve (Made by Sweet Sequels): An item I am keeping, yay! I was originally unsure about keeping this because it’s inspired by a scene from Harry Potter and I’m not that big of a fan of those books but it’s actually massive and can definitely fit more than one book. I can see myself using this and it’ll be good for when I go on holiday! Plus I do really like the colours.

Glow in the Dark Dragon Necklace (FairyLoot): I would have preferred anything but a necklace for the wearable item. I can’t see myself wearing this, it would just annoy me. I really like that it glows in the dark though, that’s cool!

Pin Flag (FairyLoot): I have absolutely no desire to use this and think it’s a pretty boring item. It’s just a plain flag to put your pins on? I don’t really collect pins so this item is kind of wasted on me. I’ve already packed it up to sell so I don’t have a good photo, sorry!

A Court of Thorns and Roses tarot cards: These are the first lot of tarot cards FairyLoot will be including in their monthly boxes from now on. I only know these characters are from the ACOTAR series because they told us. Otherwise I’d have no idea who they are because I DNF’ed this series! I’ll be selling these. I don’t want them.

The Storm Crows by Kalyn Josephson (ARC, 2019): This is the ARC we received and I’m not sure what to make of it yet but I’m definitely keeping it. I think the cover is nice and the story sounds intriguing but I’m not sure if it’s something I’ll like! I can always trade it for something else in the future.

Fire and Heist by Sarah Beth Durst: This is the book of the month and I am not keeping this. I will try sell it first and if that fails, it’s going to the charity shop. I have absolutely no interest in reading this because I know it will annoy me. I read a review and someone summarised it as a sixteen year old girl with boyfriend problems and she also has a complicated relationship with her mother. So I was like no, thank you. I am not reading this.

Extra pictures: Can I just say that that autograph is shockingly bad. It looks like a drunk person signed it. I just laughed as soon as I saw it. I don’t like the character artwork. If anything, it confirms my thoughts that I won’t like this book.

So that’s my thoughts on FairyLoot’s December box! Sorry it wasn’t more positive but this was a really disappointing box for me. I’m debating whether or not to get January’s box because that looks good. I don’t know. You’ll see in a month! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
