Hey guys! November has flown by and I am so ready for Christmas but before I get in the Christmas spirit, I have to write my wrap up posts! Sad for you but good for me, this is going to be a really quick post as I actually only purchased two (three if you count the same book purchased twice!) books this month and I was sent one for review! I think some of you will be pleased with one of my choices as a lot of people have been telling me to read it!
Also I’m sorry again for my sporadic posting, I’ve not really had a lot of time this month to blog but I’m hoping in December I’ll be feeling a little better and more motivated! So here’s the very small amount of books I purchased/received in November:
1) A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs:
First up, I finally got my hands on, not one, but two copies of A Map of Days and I also got them signed as I went to one of Ransom Riggs’ UK tour events! I wrote a post about it if you want to check it out but here is a spoiler, it was awesome and so much fun! It’s been years since I read Library of Souls and I’m a little hazy on the ending so maybe I will re-read the last few chapters to remind myself of what happened. I do remember the last 100 or so pages was absolutely insane though! I’m really excited to dive back into this world and I cannot wait to see how the peculiars manage in America! I’ve actually missed these characters and the peculiar photographs!
2) Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff:
So this is the book I think everyone will be pleased about! I recently wrote a post talking about what books I really wanted to buy but was holding off on and Illuminae was one of them! So what made me buy it, then? Well, I saw someone selling this beauty on one of Facebook’s B/T/S groups for just £3 including shipping! So I had to snatch that up! It’s £9 in Waterstones and £7 on Amazon which I think is still pretty expensive considering it came out a while a go now. I’ve been scouring charity shops in the hopes that it’ll pop up but sadly I never saw it. So I am really pleased to have gotten it so cheap. Not really sure what it’s about, I just know the writing style is really cool and everyone has obviously been raving about it! So hoping to pick this one up soon!
3) The Cthulhu Casebooks: Sherlock Holmes and the Sussex Sea-Devils by James Lovegrove
This one was sent to me by Titan Books and it was a lovely surprise because I wasn’t expecting it! I missed the post and then spent hours wracking my brain trying to think if I’d ordered a book or requested one. So I was very happy when I opened my package and pulled this out! I love a good Sherlock Holmes story and I’ve seen lots of great reviews for it already, so I’m excited to dive into it!
So this is my small wrap up for November and I am honestly so shocked that I only bought two books. I’m so used to buying so many books every month, it’s not like me to only buy two and actually read the ones I own! I was pawing through my wobbly stacks of books trying to find an imaginary book I’d bought. I deserve a pat on the back before I ruin it all in December and buy a million books! What books did you guys buy this month? I hope you guys enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
