Books I really want to buy but I’m restraining myself!

Hey guys! I feel like this post follows on quite nicely from my previous one! In that post I talked about books I had to buy, but haven’t yet read! Now I’ll be talking about books I really want to buy but I’m stopping myself because I have too many books and I cannot buy anymore! I hope you enjoy!

Collector’s Editions: A Darker Shade of Magic, Vicious and Vengeful by V.E. Schwab

I’ll start with Schwab books, shall I? These collector’s editions are absolutely stunning and I want them so badly! But I’m trying to hold out until Christmas at least because they are so expensive and I have a lot of other books I need to read first. But I really want to read Vicious and Vengeful because they sound so freaking good! Plus Schwab is a really great writer and I love her books.

Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

I really want to read this trilogy to find out who the darkling is because I see this name everywhere and I also want to find this quote: “fine make me your villain.” Also ever since these gorgeous new covers came out, I’ve been wanting to read this trilogy even more because I want to sit these beautiful books on my shelves! I have to physically restrain myself from bundling all these books into my arms in Waterstones and marching to the till to buy them. I’m like no, you have SO MANY UNREAD BOOKS ALREADY. It’s so hard to stop yourself from buying books, sigh.

Vox by Christina Dalcher: I really want to buy this but it is so expensive and I keep telling myself to to wait for the paperback to come out but it’s so hard! Every time I see it in Waterstones I have to ignore the urge to pick it up and buy it immediately. It just caught my eye when it came out and it keeps calling to me! It kind of reminds me of 1984 by George Orwell. Basically a new government comes into power and everything changes but only for women. Bank accounts are frozen, passports are taken away and women lose their jobs. What’s even worse is that they are limited to just one hundred words a day and if they speak one more word, a thousand volts of electricity will course through their veins. It sounds really good!

Wildcard by Marie Lu: I haven’t even read Warcross yet and I already want to buy this! I keep telling myself no because if I don’t like Wacross, I’m going to be stuck with a book I don’t want to read! For once I am agreeing with my logical self and trying to hold off on buying this until I’ve read the first one and can decide if I want to read the second!

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman: I’ve been wanting to buy this for a year or two now but I keep holding off as like an incentive to myself. I’m like when you eventually get your TBR down to a much more manageable size, THEN you can buy Illuminae! It doesn’t seem to be working yet, but here’s hoping! I love how different the formatting is for this book and everyone has said it’s really cool so I do really want to read it at some point!

Renegades by Marissa Meyer: The reason I am putting off buying this is because I want the US cover and I’ll have to order it from Book Depository! It’s probably going to be expensive and I’m never in for postage so maybe this is a potential one for Christmas as well! I’ve been wanting to read this since it came out but I really dislike the UK cover and the writing is so tiny in the UK version it’ll give me a headache! I much prefer the US version!

I wouldn’t call this a book buying ban as I’m still buying books here and there, just not these ones! Like I said, maybe I’m using it more as an incentive program? Does anyone else do this? Feel free to leave a comment below! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
