Hey guys! I can’t believe it’s October already! I’m so excited for Halloween and also because we are that little bit closer to Christmas! But I am really excited for Halloween because I love it so much. I’ve tried to pick what I hope are some creepy books to get me in the mood for this spooky month! Here’s what I’d like to read:
Strange Ink by Gary Kemble: As soon as I saw this book I just knew I had to read it. It looks and sounds amazing, and it has black sprayed edges! It just screams horror at me and I really hope it doesn’t disappoint! It looks like a book that is going to be really creepy and shocking… I’m so excited I can finally start reading it!
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco: I have been saving this book especially for October because it just screams Halloween! Everyone has been telling me to read this so I have really high hopes for it! I think it also includes photographs and I really liked that when I was reading Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children.
Hallowdene by George Mann: I feel like this would also be a good book to read for Halloween because it focuses the darker side of myths and legends. The grave of a local witch who was killed three hundred years ago is uncovered and while the main character Elspeth is investigating the grave, she finds that there is more to this story than meets the eye. It sounds like it’s going to be quite a creepy book so with Halloween approaching, now is the perfect time to read it!
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo: This is definitely not a Halloween book but I am currently 160 pages into this so I really want to finish it, preferably before I completely forget what has happened so far!
Vanished & Never Coming Back by Tim Weaver: These two books were on my September TBR but unfortunately I had to put them aside whilst I read priority books! Once those are done and my reviews are written, I will definitely be diving back into this series and hopefully catching up! I think there’s 9 books in this series so far and I’m currently on book 3 so I have quite a lot of reading to do!
I think I’ve chosen some good books this month and hopefully they’ll get me in the mood for Halloween! I’m not really a fan of scary books but I do like ones that creep you out and I think these have the potential to do just that. Maybe not Crooked Kingdom but you never know. What books are you hoping to read this month? Feel free to leave a comment below! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
