October 2018 Wrap Up!

Hey guys! I fully embraced this spooky month by reading some very creepy crime thriller/murder mystery books! Admittedly, I completely failed by October TBR as I just ended up not being in the mood for the majority of them. Instead I picked these ones out and I’m really glad I read them as I enjoyed nearly every one! Quite a successful month for me! Here’s what I read:

Strange Ink by Gary Kemble: I really enjoyed this book and thought it was an appropriate read for Halloween, especially because it has freaking ghosts! It was really intense at times and I loved how there was just so much crammed into this one book. It was very fast paced and corruption was right at the core of this story. I can’t believe it is the author’s debut novel! I look forward to seeing what he writes in the future!

Vanished by Tim Weaver: Got another book ticked off the David Raker thriller series! I’m really enjoying these books, they are incredibly action packed and the plots are really dark and creepy! The third book did not disappoint and that ending! It was intense and had such an insane cliffhanger!

October 2018 Book Haul!

Hey guys! I hope you are all doing well and are having a great month! I’m sorry for my lack of posting last week, I was actually ill halfway through the week so I didn’t have time to sit down and write anything. But today I am bringing you my October book haul! Sadly I bought a lot again this month but I have already read two of the books I purchased so that’s something! Here’s what I bought:

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton: I popped in Waterstones for a browse which in hindsight I should have known was a big mistake because I saw this in buy one get one half price. I had no intention of buying it but the staff member I was talking to said it was an absolutely mind-blowing book and that I should read it. I was immediately sold because he also said it was one of his favourite books! I read it last week so my thoughts will be in my wrap up post!

Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay: The staff member was kind enough to include a book that wasn’t in the deal and he actually recommended the first book in the Dexter series. I didn’t even know what this series was about despite it having a TV show but he said he really loved this series, so I decide to purchase this as well! Again, I read this last week and will include my thoughts in my wrap up post!

Books I really want to buy but I’m restraining myself!

Hey guys! I feel like this post follows on quite nicely from my previous one! In that post I talked about books I had to buy, but haven’t yet read! Now I’ll be talking about books I really want to buy but I’m stopping myself because I have too many books and I cannot buy anymore! I hope you enjoy!

Collector’s Editions: A Darker Shade of Magic, Vicious and Vengeful by V.E. Schwab

I’ll start with Schwab books, shall I? These collector’s editions are absolutely stunning and I want them so badly! But I’m trying to hold out until Christmas at least because they are so expensive and I have a lot of other books I need to read first. But I really want to read Vicious and Vengeful because they sound so freaking good! Plus Schwab is a really great writer and I love her books.

Books I had to buy but are still sitting on my shelf!

Hey guys! Recently I have been browsing old top ten topics and I stumbled across this one. It seemed like a really great topic to write about! I am considering participating in these posts on Tuesday’s now instead of Top 5 Wednesday as I just think there’s better topics. Top 5 Wednesday recently has not been very good for me. Though the only thing that concerns me is that I won’t be able to pick 10 books for each topic! If you take part in this weekly meme, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I have a 100 unread books to choose from for this, so here’s the first 10 that popped up in my head:

Legendary by Stephanie Garber: I haven’t even read Caraval yet but I had to rush to buy this because I wanted it to match the first book! All first editions had an image under the dust jacket like the first one. These books are like gold dust to come across now and they are so expensive when you do finally find out! I saw someone selling a copy of Caraval for £150 and my jaw hit the floor. So of course I had to buy this for a reasonable price and make sure it matched my copy of Caraval, in case I actually like the book!

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi: Have I read the Shatter Me series yet? No. Did I rush out and buy this as soon as it came out? Yes! Total cover buy and I can’t wait to catch up on this series!
