Top 5 Wednesday: Favourite Covers

Hey guys! I had no idea how insanely difficult this post would be until I actually sat down and tried to write about my favourite covers. There’s so many! How can I narrow it down to five? It’s so hard! These are not in order because I can’t decide which is my absolute favourite, I can’t do that to all these beautiful covers. 🙂

You can probably already guess what books I’ve chosen because I gush about these covers all the damn time! They are so pretty, I love them! I’d love to know if you agree as well!

kingThe Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

If you read my post where I talked about my August favourites, then you’ll know the main reason I like this cover is the reindeer on the front. I am completely and utterly obsessed with reindeers. I just think they are such beautiful and majestic creatures. I am also a little fascinated by crows, but not much. So this cover combining crows and a reindeer, I freaked out. It just screams my name. I think this is definitely my favourite cover out of the four. I mean all the covers are stunning, especially The Dream Thieves. But the reindeer will always win! Also this book is signed, so maybe that helps it win as well. 😉

NevernightNevernight by Jay Kristoff

The UK cover for Nevernight will forever be one of my favourites. It’s such a stunning cover! I remember when I bought this, I had no idea who Jay Kristoff was or even what the book was about. I just saw the cover and immediately bought the book. Even under the dust jacket, the design is amazing! It’s completely black and it has the crow on the front cover, it’s incredible! I am so excited to see what the cover for Darkdawn looks nice! The cover for Godsgrave was beautiful but Nevernight was still my favourite. I wonder if Darkdawn will knock it off its pedestal?

City of Heavenly FireCity of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Of course, I have to pick one of Cassandra Clare’s books! It’s just killing me trying to decide which one. 😭 I love all the covers for Cassie’s books but I think what really made my heart fall in love was the cover for City of Heavenly Fire. This cover was just everything I wanted and more. It’s such a beautiful cover and I love the fire at the bottom. I love their stances on the cover and Clary’s runes. The covers for her books are getting better and better now but this one will always hold a special place in my heart. It was and is still one of my favourite covers.

SpellslingerSpellslinger by Sebastien De Castell

This is another beauty that is still going strong! I love, love, love this cover! I’m beginning to think I’m a sucker for white, red and black covers because that is apparently what I’m drawn to now! No but I love this cover because of the characters on the front. Their poses are so badass and Kellen looks like he’s about to knock you out but he’s actually the one who’d end up getting knocked out. 😂 At least Reichis is accurate, he’ll definitely eat your eyeball. I love how you look at this cover and immediately think magic/fantasy. It’s a book that demands to be read and I love bold covers like that!

A Conjuring of LightA Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

Schwab!!! Her books deserve to be on this list because they are all so beautiful. But my favourite has to be A Conjuring of Light. I adore this cover! It’s come to my attention that I really like covers where the characters have badass/fighting stances. Or covers that are really dark because it makes me think that stuff is going to go down! And not good stuff. 😝 But really whoever designed this cover did a fantastic job of matching it very closely to the story!

I feel like everyone else is going to pick new releases and I’m still here with old books like woop! That’s not to say new covers aren’t pretty because they definitely are but they just haven’t been able to top the above. What are some of your favourite covers? Feel free to leave a comment below or even a link to your post! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!

These are all gorgeous! I especially agree with The Raven King and Nevernight. The art is just stunning. The colors for The Raven King are just so magical and the details on the crow of Nevernight is lovely. I also really like the abstractness and white silhouette of ACOL. All those covers, actually, are gorgeous. Great pics!
