Hey guys! I’ve had another successful month of buying hardly any books! I bought two books with my own money and then I received four for review (already read two of them). I’ve managed to read 8 books this month so I feel like I actually have a chance at getting my TBR down slowly, slowly. I’m not exactly sure what my TBR number is but it’s pretty high. I’ll have to do another count again! Anyway, here’s all the books I purchased/received this month:
You Were Gone by Tim Weaver: I honestly just bought this because the hardback was cheap and it seemed like a good deal! I need to read the rest of the books in the series first before I can read this one though. I might take some on holiday with me in September because I do really want to read them! If you haven’t heard of this series, it’s about a private investigator who finds missing people. Very good crime thrillers in my opinion. I think this is the 9th book? So you have to invest yourself in this series which I haven’t been able to do yet!
LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff: I have no clue what this is about and just bought it because I like Jay Kristoff’s writing. I definitely want to read it though because just from looking at that insane cover, it seems like it will be really awesome! It has some amazing reviews too from what I can see on Goodreads. Just looking at the cover it looks very futuristic!
Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Dust by James Lovegrove: I was so excited when I saw this pop up in my emails! These books are part of a wider series I think but they aren’t related and are by different authors so it doesn’t really matter which ones you read. I think I have read two of them and they were so good! Can’t wait to sink my teeth into this one!
The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Devil and the Four by Sam Siciliano: I just noticed both the titles have the word ‘Devil’ in them so that’s interesting! I wonder if this book is a take on The Sign of the Four? Be awesome if it was, can’t wait to read it to find out! It’s the second book in a series but the publisher said it can be read as a standalone which is good! Don’t have a clue what it is about but it’s Sherlock Holmes so it doesn’t really matter, I’ll read any book about Sherlock Holmes!
I then also received The War in the Dark by Nick Setchfield but I already posted the review for that last week and Posing for Picasso by Sam Stone which I have read and will be posting my review for soon!
So I’m pleased with my small little haul and for once I’m not feeling overwhelmed with how many books I’ve purchased! Normally I buy more than I read but lately I’m reading more which is great! I could never do a book buying ban but only buying 2-3 books a month seems to help. What books have you purchased this month? Feel free to leave a comment below! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
