Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Want to Read Before the End of the Year

Hey guys! I always do these posts and when it gets to the end of the year, I find out that I haven’t read a single book on my list. But here I am again doing this post so clearly I never learn! Hope you enjoy!

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

Stalking Jack the Ripper1) Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

I actually really do want to read this but I’m saving it for October because everyone says it’s a perfect book to read for Halloween! I don’t want to start reading it in the summer and be kicking myself and wishing I’d read it in October! I was expecting it to be a romance given the title but everyone has said it’s not about that at all and it has a scientific approach to it. A lot of people said it’s a horror story, too. I think it has photos included as well which makes it sound like it’s going to be creepy as hell. I love books that include creepy photos, gives me major goosebumps! So this will definitely be on my October TBR!

Into the Water2) Into The Water by Paula Hawkins

I’m very sad that a lot of people were disappointed with this and gave it quite low reviews. The synopsis gave me high hopes because it sounds like it would be better than The Girl on the Train but apparently not! But I would still like to read this because I was initially excited when I first heard about it and who knows, I might actually end up loving it (probably not!

Strange the Dreamer3) Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

I really want to read this but at the minute it’s kind of impossible because I have the massive hardback! It’s over 500 pages and I just can’t carry that to and from work every day! Maybe I will save this one for Christmas or a bank holiday? That way I can hopefully have it read in a few days! A lot of people have read it and said it’s one of their favourite books which is impressive!

Godsgrave4) Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

I desperately want to read this but I think I will put it off until Christmas because it was recently announced that Darkdawn won’t be published now until September 2019! So I feel reading it now is way too early even if I am desperate to start it! If I read it now, I’m pretty sure I will forget what happened in the first two books and I probably won’t have time to re-read them both because TBR problems. So disappointing it has been pushed back but I suppose we do get LIFEL1K3 in the UK end of July! Will have to pre-order that soon.

Six of Crows5) Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I actually included this on my ‘Predicting five star reads’ post last month! I still see this book popping up on Instagram, so it’s still really popular! It’s a duology that a lot of people found very easy to love and I love seeing people gushing about it! I’d love to read the duology this year so hopefully it will pop up on one of my TBRs in the coming months!

So these are five books that I’d love to read before the end of the year! Have you guys read any of these and what did you think of them? Are there any you’d want me to bump up to the top of my TBR? If you took part in this weeks topic, please feel free to leave a comment below with a link to your post for me to check out! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!

Reading Stalking Jack The Ripper right now and it’s so good! I thought it was going to be a cheesy romance novel too.
Into The Water and Six of Crows are both on my list of books to read eventually, if I ever finish my TBR pile
    Great list!

Awesome! Would you say it’s a good one to save for Halloween or not really? 😄 hahaha my TBR is so bad I’m scared to count how many unread books I have 🙈

I’m not sure really! It’s definitely on the creepier side since there’s dead mutilated bodies and all lol. Plus if you wait till Halloween, the third book comes out in September so you could read all three without the wait!
