How I Choose My Books Tag!

Hey guys! First of, sorry for not posting on Wednesday! I’ve been ill and it’s one that just leaves you feeling drained afterwards. I’ve had no energy to do anything, really. I hope today’s post makes up for it! I found this tag and it looked pretty interesting, like something I’d enjoy doing! Unfortunately, I do not know who the creator was so I am unable to tag them.

A Stranger in the House

Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book?

I picked this up because I really liked Shari’s first book The Couple Next Door. It only took me a day to read this which is what I like about her writing. Her books are easy to read and they help me get out of book slumps. I did really like this book at the time but it’s not very memorable because I honestly can’t remember a single thing about it. I read it in July 2017 and I looked at my comments from my wrap up post to try and jog my memory but I still can’t remember anything about it.

Me before you

Think of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy, but did. Why did you read it in the first place?

My friend asked me to read this so many times! I was really hesitant because I don’t normally read romance books but she loved it and she really wanted me to read it so I did. I have to say it really surprised me and I definitely did not expect to love it as much as I did! I also really loved the movie and was happy with how true it stayed to the book!

Dark Matter

Stand in front of you bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick up a book at random. How did you discover this book?

If you haven’t heard of this book then I have know idea where you have been living because EVERYONE was going crazy for this book. I was seeing it all over the place and I finally bought it when I went on holiday to California. Apparently it’s a really twisty book that completely messes with your head and I am all for that! I haven’t picked it up yet but I will soon!

Pick a book that someone personally recommended to you. What did you think of it?

So, so, so many people recommended this book to me and I’m so glad they did because I really loved it! It was really interesting and kind of scary to think of living in such a controlling world!

Pick a book that you discovered through Youtube/book blogs. Did it live up to its hype?

I saw so many people raving about this book and I just immediately wanted to read it because that cover is stunning! It definitely did live up to its hype! I absolutely loved it! I loved the main character so much and I thought the plot was fantastic. About halfway through there is a jaw dropping plot twist! This book just completely exceeded my expectations because of that. I was not expecting it at all!

Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a one word title. What drew you to this book?

I saw this floating around and was interested in reading it because the cover looked really cool. Then I got a notification saying it was only 99p on Amazon Kindle so I just bought it straight away. It’s about a girl who is a social media sensation and everyone basically worships her. Then she is attacked by a man who claims to know her but she doesn’t know him. I think it’s just based on how much some people lie on social media about who they are and the life they live, only for them to live completely different lives in person.

What book did you discover through a film/TV adaptation?

This is really old now but it’s the only book I can think of! I had no idea this book existed until everyone started raving about the film and then I found out that it was based on a book. James Dashner is now one of my favourite authors so this was a pretty successful find!

Think of your all time favourite book/s. When did you read these and why did you pick them up in the first place.

My friend recommended The Book Thief and I honestly thought I wouldn’t like it but I bought it anyway because it sounded interesting. Now it’s one of my favourite books! It’s such an emotional story and I cried so much when I read it. Such a beautiful and unique story. Would recommend this to everyone even if it’s not a genre you are a fan of.

If you read my blog a lot then you will know I was sent If We Were Villains for review by the publisher and I devoured it so fast. It was such a fantastic and gripping read. I was hooked from start to finish, it’s such a powerful story. I was hesitant going in but it completely exceeded my expectations and blew me away! Another book I’d recommend over and over!

There we have it! I found this a really fun tag and I hope you enjoyed reading it! Did I pick any books you have read? If you want to do this tag, feel free! Thank you so much for reading!
