Hey guys! This month was just crime thriller month! I just bought lots and lots of crime thrillers! I didn’t mean to buy so many books this month but it just kind of happened. They were cheap, they were pretty, they were intriguing and they tempted me. So here is my January book haul in all it’s glory!
1) Fear by Dirk Kurbjuweit
I have been waiting a year to read this book so as soon as the publication date hit, I ordered a copy on Amazon. Unfortunately I checked reviews and it doesn’t have great reviews. Really sad about this because I really wanted this to be such a mind-blowing book! I’m still going to read it since I’ve been waiting so long for it to come out. I might be a bit hesitant though going into it and won’t expect too much from it so I’m not as disappointed!
2) Bird Box by Josh Malerman
I have been wanting to read this book for a really long time but I just never bought it! I spotted it in Waterstones today when I was looking for another book so I just snatched it up! I have heard that it’s really scary and disturbing so I’m pretty excited to read it. Even the cover looks really creepy! I’ve never read any horror books before or even just a scary book. I am so ready for this to scare the life out of me! Have you read it? Please leave a comment below letting me know what you thought of it!
3) If I Die Before I Wake by Emily Koch
You guys know how much I raved about this book, it’s always popping up on my blog! It was published this month and I am so excited to have a physical copy in my hands! I loved this book so, so, so much! I was so happy and proud to see it sitting on the shelf! It’s not even my book but it just made me so happy to know that other people can finally read it! Hopefully they all love it too! I’ll definitely be re-reading it at some point!
4) The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor
I’m really intrigued by this book and it has amazing reviews! The synopsis is really vague and at first I wasn’t bothered about reading it but then I kept seeing it and thinking about it. So now I own a copy! I can’t describe it but this cover has hypnotised me pretty much. I have such a strong urge to read this book. I just NEED to know what it is about and what has happened. Why are figures of chalk men appearing? I am pretty excited to read this! It sounds very thrilling!
5) Anatomy of a Scandal by Sarah Vaughan
Another book I wasn’t going to read but I saw it in the supermarket for £4.99 and I was like you know what? I’m going to buy this! It’s another book I have been seeing everywhere and everyone is like read this book! Read this book! Read this book! Well I’m going to read it! Also, I took the jacket off and it’s absolutely beautiful. It is white and then it has the title written across the whole book – it goes all the way across the back of the cover to the front of the cover. It’s very pretty and so unusual. Different to the normal standard hardbacks.
So these are the books I purchased this month! They are all so pretty and interesting! Have you read any of these? Did you enjoy them? What books did you purchase this month? I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!
