Hey guys! Bit of a spontaneous post for you all! Since we are very nearly in 2018, I thought it would be good to look back on the goals I made for 2017 and see how many of them I actually managed to complete (probably not many)! These were my goals for 2017:
1) Read fifty books
I can’t believe it but I actually managed to do this, yay me! It was super hard and I’m definitely not setting such a big target for 2018. It’s just going to be too much of a struggle now with my full time job! But I am super happy I can say that I read fifty books in 2017! This is honestly a very big accomplishment for me and I am so happy with myself.
2) Post more reviews
I’m super happy with the amount of reviews I posted this year. Obviously because I was reading a lot this year I was able to post lots of review. But I also think I definitely managed my load better this year. Rather than read a chunk of books I knew I wasn’t going to review I split it evenly and read a couple books I wasn’t going to review and then read a couple I was going to review. It was definitely better doing it that way, easier on myself and my blog.
3) Read Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
So… I gave myself a year to read this series and I didn’t even read the first book. Maybe when I go on holiday I should only take these books to force myself to read them! My mum has read them all and she said they are really good. She’s impatiently waiting for the sixth book and since it’s not out until May, I have lots of time to read this series! I bet I still won’t have read them by the time the sixth book comes out.
4) Be more active on other people’s blogs
I don’t think I did a good job of this at all. I’m just very shy and awkward in general and I feel very awkward commenting on other people’s blogs. I have no idea why because it’s fun and a great way to meet new people but I just lack confidence, clearly! Lots of people have commented on mine, so thank you everyone for still liking and commenting on my posts even though I do it little on yours! I will try and keep on top of it better next year, I promise!
5) Get a full time job
This year was such a struggle looking for a new job. I didn’t hear back a lot of the time and lots of employers wanted three years experience and I have zero experience so it was super grim. It was really getting me down and I thought I’d never find a full time job but my luck changed at the end of September. I finally got a Monday-Friday job with 40hrs per week! Only been there three months but I am already loving it very much! I do a great deal of writing, editing and occasionally talking to journalist which is super fun! Just the job I wanted and it was definitely worth the wait because I work with some really nice people!
So out of five goals set, I accomplished three of them! That is not bad, not bad at all! The only thing I’m a bit miffed about is not even reading one book in Throne of Glass! I didn’t even read the novella, ugh! I need to force myself to pick it up and read it. What goals did you set for 2017 and did you accomplish any – if not all – of them?
