Top 5 Wednesday: Authors You’d Want to Write Like

Hey guys! I’ve been loving the Top 5 Wednesday topics this month and was super excited to get to this one! We can discuss some authors we’d want to write like whether its their writing style, what genre they write in, or how many books they manage to churn out a year! Obviously I’m going to be talking about my favourites authors!

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

1) Cassandra Clare

I must be mad not to include Cassandra Clare on this list! Who wouldn’t want to write like her? What must it be like inside her head? She must honestly have so many ideas and so many characters swirling around. I love all of her books so much! I really admire how many new books she announces every year and how she is probably just constantly writing. I’d love to dedicate as much time as she does to writing. I love how all of her plots and characters are connected to different series. It’s honestly so freaking cool and I admire her so much for being able to do this. She’s so creative.

Top 5 Wednesday: Books You’re Thankful For

Hey guys! Bringing you another Top 5 Wednesday post today talking about books I am thankful for! I’m assuming this is because it’s Thanksgiving this week? I live in UK so don’t celebrate it but happy to take part in any post that has to do with celebrating books!

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

City of Bones11) City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I’m thankful for this book because this was the start of one of my favourite series/worlds. This is the book that started it all and first introduced us to Shadowhunters! I completely fell in love with Cassie’s writing and her characters. A lot of my favourite characters are from this series and I think I’d be a bit lost if these books didn’t exist! It’s so exciting knowing we still have so much to learn about this world and I look forward to each new book!

Top 5 Wednesday: Nostalgic Book Boyfriends/Girlfriends

Hey guys! I’m so excited for this Top 5 Wednesday post as this week we can take a trip down memory lane and revisit those characters we swooned over when we were younger! This is going to be so good!

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

The Vampire Diaries1) Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith)

Using the TV show cover because I think everyone preferred the TV show to the books… But I read the books first and I absolutely adored Damon in the books. Then I watched the TV show and fell in love with Damon all over again! Damon’s character development is just incredible. He’s so misunderstood and everyone believes him to be a monster but he’s not. I loved watching him fall in love with Elena and seeing the way he was around her. He is very protective of those he loves and I just wanted to give him as much love as possible because he deserves it. He really deserves it. You can probably tell I was a Delena shipper.

Appreciation Post: City of Bones Tenth Anniversary Edition!

Hey guys! I’m just so damn excited for this beautiful book that I had to share it on my blog! You’ve all probably seen it by now or have your own copies but I was only able to pick mine up yesterday and I was freaking out! This book is stunning! Absolutely stunning! A similar post I did for Lord of Shadows was surprisingly popular so I thought why not do one for this too? If you want the contents of this book to be a surprise then do not view this post!

This is my 200th post which is flipping fantastic and quite fitting that I dedicate it to an author that I wholeheartedly adore!

Before we get into this post I would just like to apologise in advance for the awful pictures. I didn’t get home until 7pm so obviously I had zero daylight and had to take the pictures in the dark. But I added some pretty fairy lights to hopefully make up for my sucky pictures?

See? My pictures are kind of sucky but hopefully you can still appreciate how utterly gorgeous this book is! That cover is beautiful and it was honestly love at first sight when I picked this book up. Plus, it’s signed! I already have a signed copy of Lady Midnight but Cassie is one of my favourite authors – I adore her books. So if I have the opportunity to get another signed book, I’m going to get it! The website had a signed copy and a normal hardback copy and both were £15 so obviously I’m going to get the signed one! Also, SPINE BEAUTY!

November TBR!

Hey guys! Since I have to try and read five books this month I’m going to be selecting books that I really want to read or I know I will read really fast! It’s going to be a very random selection so without further ado, here are the books I plan on reading this month:

Lord of Shadows1) Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

I’ve lost count of how many times this has been on my TBR in the past months but I have actually started reading it now! I’m currently two hundred pages in and hoping to finish it this weekend! I had a little panic when I realised how close the end of the year was. If I don’t read this book by the end of the year, I may end up falling behind with Cassie’s books because she likes to introduce and publish lots of new books/series! The tenth anniversary edition of City of Bones is out this month and I might take a trip down memory lane and re-read that at some point. So you’ll definitely be seeing this book on my November wrap up!

October Wrap Up!

Hey guys! I can’t BELIEVE it’s November today, what the hell?! I was looking at my reading challenge and I’ve read 40/50 books. So I have to read five books in November and five books in December. This is going to be tough but I really don’t want to fail my reading challenge, I’m so close!

I managed to read three books this month and one short story. I don’t think that’s bad but I would have liked to have read one or two more. I literally read them all at the start of the month and then the last two weeks I have been flat out tired. I got home from work and went straight to bed, I just couldn’t read. I was too tired.

Mirror, Mirror1) Mirror, Mirror by Cara Delevingne

GUYS! Before I tell you all (again!) how amazing this book is, I got a limited edition tote bag prize for pre-ordering the book! If you pre-ordered the book you could email your receipt to the publisher and be in with a chance of winning 1 of 500 tote bags. I got really excited about this so I entered but then I completely forgot about it. It came in this massive box and I was like what the hell is this? Proceed to me squealing in excitement when I opened it and saw the beautiful tote bag! You can never have too many tote bags for all your beautiful books!

So anyways, this book was amazing! Cara did a fantastic job with the characters, I loved them all so much. I flew through this book, it was really addicting and exciting. There was never a dull moment and I was hooked all the way through! I was definitely not expecting this from Cara and I can’t wait to see if she writes anymore books in the future!
