Top 5 Favourite Books!

Hey guys! A lot of you are probably thinking that it’s impossible to narrow down five favourite books from the hundreds you own but these are some that I just love so much. Whenever someone asks me what my favourite books are I automatically list these five. So I thought I would share them with you all and it’s a very odd mix! Enjoy!

the book thief1) The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

This is my favourite book, ever. Whenever someone asks me what my favourite book is I always say The Book Thief and if they ask me why I say because it’s narrated by Death. This is the most intriguing book I’ve ever read. I bloody loved it. Death is so interesting as a narrator and I loved all the random facts we were given. It puts Death in a different light because you start to see Death as a person who has feelings just like we do. It was just an extremely captivating story and I became so attached to all of the characters. The ending was so emotional I cried for a while after I’d finished it. This is honestly one of the most powerful books I’ve ever read and I’m so glad it exists!

tmr2) The Maze Runner by James Dashner

You have all heard me gush about James Dashner time and time again. It’s just inevitable. Whenever someone mentions his name I will just talk and talk and talk about how much I love his writing. His books are so captivating, it’s crazy! I fell in love with The Maze Runner series and what’s even better is that the movies are great too! I’ve seen so many people hate on this series but for me it was so addicting and so creepy. His writing gave me goosebumps and I loved all of the characters especially Thomas, Newt and Minho!

Clockwork Angel3) Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

I’ve seen so many people say they prefer this trilogy to The Mortal Instruments series. I think the story is better and the characters are better. The relationship between Jem, Will and Tessa is so amazing. Even though there is a love triangle it’s done really well and you are just rooting for all of them. You want them all to be happy and when they are all together it makes you feel so giddy. I love these books so much and I’m so glad I read them because Jem is now one of my favourite characters! He’s just so adorable and I was really rooting for Jem and Tessa to be together. The third book nearly destroyed me but then it all worked out in the end so I’m happy now.

If We Were Villains4) If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio

I only read this book this year but it quickly became one of my favourite books. It’s a crime thriller and it is incredible! What I loved most about this book is that all of the characters are actors! So when one of them turns up dead and the police call it a murder you have no idea which one of them did it. All of them are very talented actors so it will be easy for them to act innocent. Honestly this made me so excited because it was such a good plot twist to the story! It was full of unexpected twists and I was greedily turning page after page. I loved all of the characters so, so much. Especially James and Oliver.

A World Without You5) A World Without You by Beth Revis

I read this last year and it was my absolute favourite book of the year. It’s about mental illness and the main character Bo suffers from delusions. He’s in a constant battle with himself and struggles throughout to keep a hold on reality. It was absolutely fascinating to read because Bo was a very convincing character. I loved seeing his delusions play out and then watch them shatter when he shifted back to reality. It was such a heartbreaking story and I honestly fell in love with Bo. I felt so protective of him and wanted to give him a big hug. It was such a devastating story but really captivating. It was beautiful and easily one of my favourite books!

There we have it! This is a very random mixture because it’s crime thrillers and young adult, fantasy and mental illness. Very strange but you just never know with books! You could pick up a book and be very doubtful about it but then end up absolutely loving it! Books are full of surprises and that’s what I love about them! I’m interested to see what some of your favourite books are? I’d love to know! Feel free to leave a comment below! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!

Same I have seen a lot of people say they don’t like the book! I think his books are the type that you’re either going to love or hate, there’s no in between 🙂 aw please don’t let the size intimidate you the start is actually quite fascinating and once you start it you can’t put it down! Before you know it you’ll be halfway through xD aw thanks! X

I’ve just added the last two to my “recommends” shelf on GR. Much to my dismay, I wasn’t a big fan of The Book Thief (I realize that puts me in a nearly non-existent minority). Might have been a case of so much fanfare that it couldn’t possibly meet my expectations, or maybe just bad timing. Keep meaning to get to Clockwork Angel. 🙂
