Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy and I am absolutely loving it! I love reading about Simon and can’t wait to find out how it ends!

Synopsis:

Simon Lewis has been a human and a vampire and now he is becoming a Shadowhunter. But the events of City of Heavenly Fire left him stripped of his memories, and Simon isn’t sure who he is any more. He knows he was friends with Clary and that he convinced the total goddess Isabelle Lightwood to go out with him … but he doesn’t know how.  So when the Shadowhunter Academy reopens, he throws himself into a new world of demon-hunting, determined to find himself again, rediscover his relationships and ascend as a true Shadowhunter. But he soon realises that nothing is ever straightforward at the Academy…

Top 5 Wednesday: Favourite Villains

I have been waiting all month for this post! I bloody love villains and I always seem to fall for them! There’s just something so fascinating about them, they just draw you to them and you can’t contain your burning curiosity. You just have to find out more about them and once you do, that’s it! You can’t let them go! These are more TV show characters than book characters just because I think TV shows portray the best villains and they are some of my favourites.

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

1) Negan (The Walking Dead)

I think Negan is one of those villains you really want to hate, like really bad, but you just find yourself liking them more and more. I was so torn in the season 7 premiere because he killed one of my favourite characters but then I found myself not completely hating him either. I was fascinated by him because he was just so power crazy and he managed to frighten Rick (amazing acting from Andrew Lincoln) plus gain control over their little group.

November Book Haul!

I am super happy with the books I bought this month! I went on a book buying ban in the middle of the month and so far I have stuck to it! I plan to stick to it until the middle of January when Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth comes out! All the books I bought this month were pre-orders apart from one which is an ARC given to me by smith publicity.

I am so in love with this book! The cover is so flipping gorgeous and the spine is so pretty! The poster is AMAZING! Love it! It’s such a huge book and just holding it in my hands makes me so happy! I’m about halfway through and I love it so much! Simon is one of my favourite characters and it’s just so good reading about him and his journey on becoming a Shadowhunter. It’s taking me a lot longer to read it than I thought it would because it’s just a massive book! But I’m really enjoying it and I’m so excited to carry on reading it.

Book Traveling Thursdays: It’s Thanksgiving!

Hey guys! I thought I’d try this weekly meme called Book Traveling Thursdays hosted by The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle’s Book Blog!

This weekly meme consists in picking a book related to the weekly theme that is announced in the group Goodreads page (if you want to join click here) at the beginning of each month. After that you can write a blog post where you explain why you choose that book and choose different covers from different countries. To make it a little bit easy you are going to choose different editions of the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover.

This week’s topic involves Thanksgiving where you choose a book you’re thankful you read! I’m from the UK and we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but this sounded really fun and I just had to take part! I decided to pick The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! I am so grateful to have read this wonderful book! It’s a really emotional and incredibly captivating story. It had a massive impact on me and it had such a significant story it truly is an unforgettable book. It’s my favourite book and I would highly recommend it if you haven’t read it. Here are a couple versions of this book:

Top 5 Wednesday: Books I Want to Re-Read

Hey guys! This week’s topic involves taking a trip down memory lane and talking about books we’d like to re-visit! There are so many great books I desperately want to re-read but with so many constantly coming out and with a massive TBR on my hands it’s a little hard to find time to get to them! Just a heads up… all of these are all going to be series because they are the only books I want to re-read at the minute and you can’t re-read the first book without re-reading the rest! Hope you enjoy!

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

I have been wanting to re-read this series for so freaking long because so much happens in these books and I really enjoyed them the first time I read them! I just want to remind myself of everything that happens and re-visit my favourite scenes and my favourite characters. But Cassie is constantly bringing out new Shadowhunter books which makes it hard to visit this series because I’m too damn excited for the new ones!

Top 5 Wednesday: Favourite Publishers

I am so excited for this weeks topic! We finally get to give the publishers some love for putting out our favourite books! A lot of my favourite books come from the same publishers and I’m so happy to be able to give them some love and thank them for working tirelessly to give us these books! I hope you enjoy this post!

This group was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey) and is hosted by Sam (ThoughtsOnTomes). If you want to participate, check out the link on Goodreads here.

Simon & Schuster

Simon & Schuster is my absolute favourite publisher because they are always publishing books from my favourite authors and constantly introducing me to new ones. I have a lot of books on my shelf courtesy of Simon & Schuster. Plus they design really amazing and eye-catching covers! Just look at those covers, I’m in love!

My Dream Book Conference

Hey guys! This is a little different to what I normally post but I thought it would make a nice change and I had a lot of fun writing it! If you’d like to use a resource to plan and find conferences in your local area, I’d suggest checking out Eventbrite and using their conference management page as a way to plan and find conferences in your local area!

I thought this post was a really interesting idea and I have decided to divide this post into some of my favourite genres and for each genre I have picked two authors I’d love to hear talk about these genres and their books. I hope you enjoy it!

Urban Fantasy

One of the most interesting genres for me has to be Urban Fantasy. It amazes me how an author is able to take a real place and create a whole other world inside it. It’s so interesting how they can incorporate fantasy and supernatural creatures and have them living alongside society without people ever realising it. It’s such an awesome idea and definitely takes a lot of patience and creativity.
